The Hotel School Australia (THSA) has been named a finalist in the NSW Tourism Association’s Tourism Awards, standing out as the sole higher education provider among the finalists.
The NSW Tourism Awards, which form part of the prestigious Australian Tourism Awards, celebrate excellence and innovation across the tourism sector, recognising organisations that contribute significantly to the growth and sustainability of tourism in New South Wales. The awards highlight outstanding achievements in areas such as education, sustainability, and visitor experience.
Among a competitive field in the sector, The Hotel School was selected as a finalist for its focus on its innovative teaching approach in the Southern Cross Model, as well as a long history of industry collaboration, working with the sector to ensure course curriculum is relevant and forward thinking. Tourism is one of three specialisations, along with Events and Hospitality, offered within the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management. It is also a key focus of the Master of Business in Global Hotel Leadership, which is designed for future leaders in the Hotel, Tourism and Leisure industry.

“Our industry focus is deeply embedded in our courses. Working closely with students and our industry partners is an opportunity to build skills and knowledge in the sector,” Professor Wilson added.
“We could not do it without the support of our industry partners who not only provide our students with internship opportunities but contribute to the building of knowledge through guest speakers and industry panel sessions, site visits and field trips, study tours and curriculum and assessment collaboration. It’s a model that sets The Hotel School apart in Australia’s tourism landscape.”
The winners of the NSW Tourism Awards will be announced on 27 November in Sydney, marking what is widely regarded as the tourism industry’s night of nights.
